Some people today complain that Half-Life 2 feels generic, but the art and sound design are really carefully chosen to create a particular atmospheric. The game has such a cool, dark, hypnotic Minority Report kind of feel--a nice mix of mundane and alien that always gives me a really satisfying feeling of uncanniness whenever I play.

It's usually found in the form of a bright green particle explosion, followed by random beams of electricity and an alien spawning. Half-Life 2 Sound effect/ambient issues Hello, i recently got HL2 from steamunlocked, followed the install instructions and booted the game perfectly fine on my old Dell Inspiron 1545. Fast forward a few chapters and i noticed the game was oddly quiet aside from the occasional gunfight and footsteps.
