Yeah, I had made 6 races for people to play as (Charr, Tengu, Human, Norn, Asura, and Golem) I kept to just these because our timeline was closer to GW 1 than GW2. But that's as far as I got. I was working on classes, but I couldn't find the right place to start. I had 14 classes I wanted to design between the 2 games and the spells within 5e
XDV5. Supposedly the Guardian magic tradition is a mix+evolution of Monk, Paragon and Spiritualist from the GW1 days. Monk definetly had religious tones, but Paragon was less magic and more martial / internal reserves and Spiritualist kinda explains itself. 2. Rahkeesh.
For melee classes like Guardian, Revenant, Warrior, and Thief I prefer Asura b/c their movement and animations feel so quick compared to other races. For caster or ranged like Ele, Mesmer, Ranger, Engineer, medium-sized races like Sylvari and Human work well.
The only Race I have trouble matching most classes to is Asura..I see Thief and Engineer fitting them perfectly fine as well as all the light armour Scholar classes.But Ranger doesn't fit too much given the Asura's superior attitude over lesser lifeforms and their technological advancement, they just seem to lack the kind of compassion and
Actually I would have to add Engineer to the Asurans, as they're hands down the most technologically advanced race in Tyria. Guardian and Ranger would be suitable for the Norns as well. And I might add a magic class for the Charr, I remember in GW1 fighting alot of Charr elementalists and necromancers. Lots of Charr rangers too.
