I've been looking around and haven't found a ton of discussion about ranger pets. One of my favorite things about GW2 is the immense flexibility and customization of mounts, skins, characters and quality of life.
Lynx is top offensive pet with top tier condition damage and precision stats. Marsh Drake is the best tank pet that cleaves and drains life; so it handles groups of mobs very well and will hardly ever die. In soulbeast mode, you'll be very hard to kill when merged with Marsh Drake.
Theres 3 vendors that you can trade 3 times per account for doggy bags that have random awards in them. One of them gave me 1500 luck. Theres a choya vendor that sells a tonic that transform you into a choya with massive weapons. 17.
Yes ferocious pets give not offensive stats when you are merged with them. The moa is the highest dps when you used it's f2 ability while inside twice as vicious, sic em and one wolf pack due to its multi hits. That being said I prefer the added cc from rock gazelle. Yeah, most pets just aren't useful. While in PvP the balancing decisions would need to be different, in PvE they could just normalize pet DPS to around 2.9k (with full boons) like the Lynx has, with some pets losing DPS for utility purposes (i.e. Brown bear should lose a couple hundred, 4-500 for Shake it Off).
If pets of a single family have so much in common, why not make things simpler? And that leads us to the above image, my proposal for a Pet Management panel redesign.. The primary advantage of this system is that, by splitting subspecies from their beast skills, the developers can implement new pet skins without having to worry about new skills.
rbrB24O. There could be a number of fixes in multiple places, for instance, having a big warning on the pet selection menu that states that soulbeast is restricted to 1 pet once combat initiates. Or having a red text appear on screen when pressing the pet swap button saying "no valid soulbeast pet swap" Maybe they can add this in a few years.
Posted October 14, 2018. Hey guys, I decided to create for the first time a ranger after being destroyed so much by them in wvw, I leveled him up with tomes and unlocked both druid and soulbeast already with wvw hero points. I walked for the map for a while and unlocked the "meta" standard pets for roaming as soulbeast, owl and smokescale.
It doesn't always spawn so close to you, but the minipet should be a small green/blue circle on the minimap. Like a smaller version of the party members on minimap :P. I see him now. Thanks for the help! Double clicking "should" work. After that you have a mini pet following you around. It's not an equipped itemm , just something used from your
PvE: Armor Fish (underwater) Devourers (underwater) Jungle Stalker (dungeons for damage buff, keep neutral because pets will die anyway) WvW: Jungle Stalker (same reason) Red Moa (still good for crit) Devourer (The stunning one. good damage and an extra stun) Spider (Immobilize one, same reason as devourer)
There's very few choices in pretty pets that aren't terrible overall. In fact, the best pets are felines, excluding Jacaranda and Iboga - which are arguably two of the best pets, on top of being absolutely hideous. So if you want a pretty, functional pet, your choices are the lynx, tiger, and jaguar. Otherwise you take the Jacaranda because it
